Civil Insight is operated by Ali Eskandari. This page explains the information involved when you read the site, contact us, subscribe, comment or create a contributor account. Contact us about privacy through the Contact page.

Information you provide

Contact enquiries include the name, email address, message and any company information you choose to supply. Newsletter subscriptions use your email address. Contributor registration collects your name, email address and password, together with optional professional details. Comments include your chosen name, email address and comment.

How information is used

Information supports replies to enquiries, subscriptions you request, account access, publication of contributions, comment handling and protection against spam or misuse. Contributor names, professional details and published contributions can appear publicly. Your contact or subscription email address is not displayed as part of an article or comment. Avoid putting confidential or personal information in public submissions.

Hosting, cookies and other services

The site uses WordPress.com and related Automattic services for hosting and features such as subscriptions and profile images. These services can process technical information, including IP addresses, browser information and activity associated with their features. Login and preference cookies support sign-in and remembered choices. Optional comment cookies remember the details you choose to save. See Automattic’s privacy policy for its service-specific practices.

Embedded services, including TradingView market information, and external links are operated by their respective providers. Loading or following them may involve their own data handling and cookies. Service providers may process information outside Australia; their policies explain their processing arrangements.

Your choices and requests

Use the unsubscribe link in subscription emails to stop future mailings. Browser settings let you manage cookies, although blocking them may affect sign-in or other features. Contact us to ask about access, corrections, account closure, removal of public material or a privacy concern. Include enough information to identify the relevant account, enquiry or contribution without sending passwords.

Accounts, enquiries, subscription records and published discussions may remain in the website or its service-provider systems while needed for their purpose, site administration and applicable record-keeping obligations. A removal request may require review of public discussion context, backups or other records. We will consider privacy concerns and explain the response through the contact details you provide.
