Bridge work prompted a daytime lane restriction

The New York State Department of Transportation issued a 3 November 2026 advisory for bridge work linked to Syracuse’s Interstate 81 Viaduct Project. The notice scheduled eastbound I-690 to operate with one lane between the I-81 northbound on-ramp and Exit 17 at Teall Avenue from 9 am to 3 pm local time on 4 November. The work was subject to weather and site conditions.

Why it matters. The notice shows how work associated with the viaduct project can affect adjoining routes while the wider network remains in use. The published restriction describes a planned work window. The advisory does not confirm completion or establish the traffic arrangements for later stages. New York State DOT advisory, 3 November
