Yeerongpilly works planned for the coming weekend
Cross River Rail’s November–December 2026 works notice schedules activity at Yeerongpilly station and the corridor towards Moorooka during planned rail closures. The next listed possession runs from 2 am on Saturday 7 November to 3 am on Monday 9 November, Queensland local time, subject to weather and construction conditions.
AustraliaThe programme includes overhead electrical structures, signalling equipment, cable routes, drainage, excavation for undertrack crossings and track maintenance. The notice also identifies intermittent traffic holds on Wilkie Street for construction access.
Why it matters. The possession combines several rail systems and civil work packages in an operating corridor. The published notice distinguishes the closure work from the regular daytime programme, helping explain how the next stage will be delivered. Cross River Rail works notice, checked 6 November
Signals and extra lanes open at the upgraded junction
The Australian infrastructure department reported on 5 November 2026 that the Thompsons Road and Berwick–Cranbourne Road intersection had opened seven months ahead of schedule. The A$83.5 million project replaced the roundabout with traffic lights and added approach lanes and upgraded bus infrastructure. The Australian and Victorian governments funded it equally.
Why it matters. Opening a junction changes how drivers, buses, cyclists and pedestrians move through the area. The delivery milestone brings the completed traffic arrangement into use, with benefits dependent on how the wider road network operates. Australian Government project release
